ALBAWABA - A car bomb explosion in Moscow's Balashikha district kills Russian General Yaroslav Moskalyuk, prompting a major criminal investigation.

The so-called "Moscow crime" is captured on video, and it provides information on the assassination of the Moscow police officer.

A Volkswagen Golf had an explosion earlier today, on Friday, next to home number 2 on Nesterov Street in Balashikha, which is located in the Moscow Region.  A criminal investigation has been initiated by the Russian Investigative Committee on the basis of the indications of crimes that are mentioned in Article 105 and Article 222.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder and illicit trafficking in explosive chemicals, respectively).

The casualty was identified as General Yaroslav Moskalyuk, who was the "Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Operations in the General Staff" of the Russian Armed Forces, according to a statement released by the committee. According to the publication, the explosion took place in the village of Balashikha, which is located a few kilometers to the east of the capital of Russia. 

Executive units from several security agencies, as well as investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee, forensic scientists, and other professionals, have arrived at the location of the incident.

Svyatlana Petryanko, the spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee, has verified that Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyuk suffered fatal injuries as a result of the explosion caused by the vehicle bomb in Balashikha, which is located in the Moscow Oblast.
