ALBAWABA - Students running and screaming, a video captured the moment an unnamed student entered a school in Turkey's Şanlıurfa city and opened fire, shooting and injuring about 20 people.
At least 19 people were injured in a gun attack at the Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Siverek district in Hasan Çelebi neighborhood, southeastern Turkey.
Who was the gun attacker?
Ministry of Interior in Turkey revealed that: "In the armed attack carried out by Ö.K., identified as a former student of Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Şanlıurfa's Siverek district, 10 students, 4 teachers, 1 police officer, and 1 cafeteria operator citizen were injured; the perpetrator committed suicide with the same weapon following the incident."
It has been revealed that Ömer Ket, born in 2007, who carried out the attack, had earlier made threatening comments on a post from the school's Instagram account on his social media profile before the gun attack: "Get ready, there will be an attack at this school in a few days, get ready beavers."
A video captured the moment when the young boy holding a gun entered the school's door and started to run, while other students were seen in the clip terrified and trying to escape from the area where the attacker was present.
Initial reports revealed that 7 students and one teacher were wounded in the gun attack. A large number of medical personnel and special operations police were dispatched to the location.
The Sabah website revealed that the attacker reportedly committed suicide. It has been reported that security forces evacuated most of the students from the school.

Municipality of Sanliurfa posted a statement on X, "We are deeply saddened by the heinous attack that took place at Siverek Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School."
It added, "We wish a speedy recovery to the injured teacher and students in this incident, and extend our get-well-soon wishes to their families and all our fellow citizens. We believe that security and peace in educational institutions come before everything else, and we hope that such events will never happen again."
