ALBAWABA - At least 18 people were injured in a gun attack that took place in a high school in Şanlıurfa city in southeastern Turkey with reports that the attacker committed suicide, local media reported on Tuesday morning.
A shooting was reported at the Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Siverek district in Hasan Çelebi Neighborhood, southeastern Turkey.
According to initial reports, at least 7 students and one teacher were injured in the gun attack, and a large number of medical personnel and special operations police were dispatched to the location.
It was alleged that an unnamed student inside the school had taken some students hostage. However, Sabah website revealed that the attacker reportedly committed suicide.
It has been reported that security forces evacuated most of the students from the school. Terrifying moments during the incident were captured on camera.
Cumhuriyet website reported that Turkish special operations teams arrived in the area and are attempting to neutralize the attacker.
