According to BNA, the United States will have no dealings with any Lebanese Cabinet member who is a member of Hezbollah, the State Department said yesterday.
Spokesman Adam Ereli said U.S policy toward Hezbollah, considered a terrorist group, has not changed. "And so to the extent that there were members of Hezbollah, active members of a foreign terrorist organization that are present in the government, our ability to deal with those individuals is circumscribed by law," he said According to Radio Sawa. But he said there would be no impediment to dealing with the entire Lebanese government. Ereli said the United States welcomed the agreement between the president of Lebanon, Emile Lahoud, and the prime minister- designate Fuad Siniora, on a proposed list of cabinet members for the next government
