ALBAWABA - Two U.S. veterans were arrested at the Senate after protesting against sending aid to Israel, accusing Washington of being complicit in the 'genocide in Gaza', activists said on X.
A video resurfaced online showing two U.S. veterans, who were identified as Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Aguilar and Josephine Guilbeau, arrested on Sunday night for opposing Washington's continued aid to Tel Aviv.
Guilbeau and Aguilar were at a Senate hearing when they spoke up, accusing the government of being complicit in the war in the Gaza Strip, but they were immediately taken by American security guards and dragged out of the room.
While being taken, Anthony Aguilar said, "Every American sitting at home right now needs to realize that you are paying for a genocide. Rise up, Rise up America, it is time to take back America from these corrupt politicians, it is beyond time..."
Josephine Guilbeau continued, "Rise up, America, rise up. It's time to take this country from these corrupt politicians." "It's time. It's beyond time," she continued.
What's the truth behind the video?
However, after checking the video, it turned out to be old footage from 2025. According to AJ Plus, the video first emerged for the first time last September, but it does show the arrest of Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Aguilar and Josephine Guilbeau after they opposed sending aid to Israel during a hearing at the Senate.
