US State Department issues Algeria travel warning

The US State Department diffused on Sunday 21 August a warning to its nationals going to Algeria. Liberte Algeria reports that this warning is a revised form of the warning dated 19 January 2005. The US State Department indicates that in particular the southern part of Algeria is dangerous and that American nationals should avoid traveling in this part of the country especially at night. The warning of the State Department also notes that although the "terrorist attacks are random", they usually occur in the public transportation system.
