ALBAWABA - A report shared by the Washington Post revealed that the United States has sent additional aircraft to its bases near Iran.
Over three dozen U.S. aircraft, including fighter jets, drones, refueling, reconnaissance and transport planes, have been sent through or into the region since mid-January. The report said that most of the aircraft arrived at Qatar's al-Udeid Air Base.
The U.S. military base in Jordan also received extra US aircraft, including fighter jets and search-and-rescue aircraft, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Satellite imagery, which was taken on Jan. 25, displayed at least a dozen F-15E attack planes at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, in addition to at least one MQ-9 Reaper drone and several multiple-utility helicopters.

The report, which is based on information from US defense officials, satellite imagery and tracking data, also mentioned that the U.S. assembled approximately a dozen warships in or around the Middle East over the past month amid tension between Washington and Tehran.
According to the American newspaper, the American government sent dozens of aircraft to its bases in Jordan and Qatar, which could mean that the country is preparing for a possible attack against Iran within weeks, The Washington Post said on Tuesday.
The report also mentioned that U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by three guided-missile destroyers, arrived at the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Jan. 26.
In addition, about eight other warships arrived in the region, including destroyers near the Strait of Hormuz, according to sources.
