A U.S. helicopter on Thursday crashed south of the Iraqi city of Falluja, west of Baghdad, witnesses said.
Elsewhere, a car bomb rocked an Iraqi hotel in the city of Basra on Thursday, killing four people, witnesses at the scene said.
A body was found inside the vehicle in central Basra, prompting police to believe it was a suicide attack, Iraqi police Lt. Col. Ali Kazem said. Three passers-by were also killed. At least 15 people were injured, The AP reported.
The attack took place near the Mirbad Hotel in the center of city, witnesses and hospital officials said.
The hotel has been regularly used for press briefings by the British military, in charge of security in Basra, and by the civilian administration in the city. (Albawaba.com)
