US Chief of Staff Embarks Tuesday on Gulf Tour

US Chief of Staff Henry H. Shelton embarks Tuesday on a Gulf tour that will take him to Qatar and Oman to discuss regional security issues with his counterparts and government officials, said the Pentagon.  

In Doha, Shelton will meet with his counterpart, Maj. Gen. Hamad Ali Al Attiyah, for discussions that will focus on enhancing military ties between the two countries, said the Pentagon in a statement of which Albawaba.com had an e-mail copy. 

Shelton will then fly to Muscat for similar discussions with Lt. Gen. Khamis bin Humaid bin Salim Al Kilbani. 

Shelton will also visit India, said the statement. 

Shelton will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the World War I and World War II Memorial followed by a guard of honor ceremony at Vijak Chowk while in New Delhi. Shelton will also meet with senior Indian government officials – Albawaba.com
