United States Ambassador to Greece, Tomas Miller has said the Cyprus problem and Greco-Turkish ties are high priority issues for the US government, according to the Cyprus News Agency.
Speaking in the US capital Tuesday at the American Hellenic Institute, Miller said that Cyprus' accession to the European Union (EU) is a decision to be taken by the Union itself. However, he reiterated, that Washington, which had played a vital role in Cyprus' course towards the EU, continues to support its accession.
