The British government has approved over 90 licenses to supply Israel with weapons since the start of the Palestinian Intifada, Junior Trade Minister Nigel Griffiths said on Tuesday.
"Between September 29 and December 31, 2000, seven standard individual export licenses (SIELs) were issued, covering the export of goods to Israel on the military list," Griffiths told Parliament, cited by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
He added that a further 84 SIELs were approved in the first five months of this year.
Griffiths’s announcement of the arms sale was made in response to a written question from Labor MP Phyllis Starkey, who chairs Parliament's All-Party Britain-Palestine Group, said IRNA.
The minister said that during the first 10 months of last year, more than 150 licensed goods were approved for Israel, in categories ranging from rifles, mortars, bombs, ammunition, combat vessels and aircraft to design technology, software, training equipment and decoy apparatus - Albawaba.com
