ALBAWABA - According to the UK police, three men have been charged with allegedly assisting Hong Kong intelligence services.
The suspects are expected to stand before later today. Dominic Murphy, Head of the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command, said: "A number of arrests were made and searches carried out across England as part of this investigation,".
The three men were charged with supporting a foreign intelligence service as well as foreign meddling, both in violation of the 2023 National Security Act. The three men charged are Chi Leung Wai, 38, Matthew Trickett, 37, and Chung Biu Yuen, 63, all from southeast England.
They were scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court in central London later Monday. As part of the inquiry, 11 persons were arrested. 
On Wednesday, counter-terrorism officers arrested eight men and a woman in Yorkshire, northern England. Two further males were apprehended on Thursday. Authorities said the seven males and one woman who were not accused were freed from custody on or before Friday.
