The Emirati health ministry is focusing on laboratory research to find out diseases that have made their appearance in the Gulf region for the first time, a ministry official was quoted as saying by the Gulf News as saying.
He said that the main concern is to determine why these diseases have suddenly appeared in the region, and how to diagnose them.
Saudi Arabia is conducting similar research.
"A committee was formed of experts in the field of microbiology to identify the side-effects of these diseases, which can be identified by studying the microbe. Another committee will study the kinds of viruses which cause a lack of immunity," he added -- Albawaba.com
