The United Arab Emirates on Saturday called anew on Iraq to affirm its abidance by relevant UN resolutions and allow international arms inspectors to resume their mission in the country to forestall a possible wide-scale US strike.
The emirate news agency (WAM) quoted the UAE foreign undersecretary, Saeed bin Saeed, as saying, during a meeting with the visiting Russian deputy foreign minister Alexander Saltanov, as saying that the UAE "sees no justification to strike Iraq.”
But he added that the UAE calls on Baghdad to implement the UN resolutions and release “Kuwaiti prisoners.” (Albawaba.com)
