A UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) plane carrying around forty tons of relief supplies is scheduled to leave for Palestine on Saturday. The announcement regarding the mission was made Friday in Abu Dhabi. The various items include winter clothing, medicines and other supplies of assistance.
Emirates News Agency reports that UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS Chairman Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has instructed the RCS delegation supervising the relief operation to assess the needs of the Palestinian civilian population, in view of the economic blockade imposed by Israel in the last couple of months.
