UAE President Sends Four Planes for Afghan Pilgrims

UAE President Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has ordered that four planes be sent to take thousands of Afghan pilgrims stranded at Kabul airport to Saudi Arabia with expenses to be paid by him, according to Khaleej Times

 

Ali Mohammed Hamad Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, told the Emirates News Agency that Shaikh Zayed had ordered four planes to be dispatched to take the pilgrims from Kabul to Jeddah starting Monday.  

 

He added that the President took the initiative to assist the Afghan pilgrims who were stranded, because there was no aircraft to take them to the holy lands. (Albawaba.com)
