The UAE Supreme Committee for Support of the Intifada is organizing a special ceremony Wednesday morning at the Cultural Palace to mark the first anniversary of the latest Palestinian uprising against 34 years of Israeli military occupation, according to the Gulf News.
A number of officials representing the committee, the Consulate of the Palestinian State, the UAE Red Crescent Society and the Anti-Normalisation of Relations with Israel Committee will participate in the ceremony, and give speeches in which they will praise the Palestinians' fight against 34 years of Israeli occupation.
According to the daily, there will be a seminar on Intifada Resistance to Zionist Terrorism, with participation of Mounzer Slaiman, Nisreen Morad, Hessa Lotah and Youssef Al Hassan.
A three-day art exhibition will remain open to the public until Friday night.
On October 27, there will be a Palestinian Folkloric Night at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah to support the Intifada, it added.
On October 28, there will be a charity dinner off the Al Qasba canal, with plates donated by the private sector to be sold to the public, in addition to a presentation of Intifada films and songs, said the report.
About 700 Palestinians, including some 100 children and 40 leaders, have been killed by Israeli troops and Jewish settlers in the uprising against 34 years of occupation.
In support of the Palestinians, the UAE government and people have extended a helping hand to the the Palestinian people, in the form of financial aid and other donations.
