On the anniversary of Prophet Mohammed’s dawn journey to Jerusalem and ascension to heavens (Al Israa wal Mi’raj), top clerics in the United Arab Emirates called Saturday night upon the Islamic nation to “wake up, restore its dignity and support the Palestinians people,” the Emirati News Agency (WAM) reported.

During a celebration, the clerics hailed the resisting Palestinians who devoted themselves and children to defend the Al Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina) and the Muslim and Arab dignity.

In the Islamic faith, the incident was one of the Prophet’s miracles where a horse sent by Allah to the Messenger carried him at dawn to Jerusalem, from where he ascended to heavens -- Albawaba.com
