ALBAWABA - At least 14 people were killed while 152 others were reported missing after a lake burst in Taiwan due to the Super Typhoon Ragasa, AFP said on Wednesday.

Local authorities in Taiwan revealed that at least 14 people were killed and 18 were injured when a decades-old lake barrier blew up.

The Hong Kong Observatory had issued the highest level of typhoon warning overnight amid the strong winds, pounding rain and high seas, caused by Typhoon Ragasa in Hong Kong.

According to the Observatory, waters in coastal areas are rising to over three metres above the reference level.

It is worth noting that the typhoon, which was set as the strongest in 2025, killed at least two people in the northern Philippines.
