Two Syrian workers were shot dead early Sunday in the Shtoora region of the Bekaa Plain, where the headquarters of the Syrian expeditionary corps in Lebanon is situated, security sources told AFP.
The bodies of the pair were found riddled with bullets in the huts used as a dormitory. The murderers had apparently used guns fitted with silencers, as no shots were heard by their neighbors, said the agency.
But police refused to confirm or deny the report.
However, Reuters said that one of the victims was a child.
It was the third incident involving Syrian victims in less than a month in Lebanon, where the pro-Syrian authorities have been carrying out raids on anti-Syrian Christian militants.
There are about a million Syrian workers in the country. Many Lebanese blame their presence for the high unemployment rates among nationals.
