Two settlers injured in West Bank as Israeli copter strikes Gaza city

Two settlers were lightly injured early Wednesday after Palestinians reportedly opened fire on their vehicle adjacent to the West Bank settlement of Barkan.  

 

Elsewhere, an explosive device detonated also early Wednesday adjacent to Israeli troops near the Gaza Strip settlement of Ganei Tal. No injuries were reported in this incident. 

 

In a separate development, Israeli Apache helicopters fired early Wednesday three missiles at a metal workshop in the neighbourhood of al-Zaytoon in southern Gaza City, causing fear and panic among children and women, Palestinian medics and security sources said, according to WAFA news agency. 

 

Witnesses said that two helicopters hovered over Gaza and all of a sudden fired three missiles at a metal workshop, adding that three huge explosions were heard in the area. 

 

The witnesses said that it is the third time that this metal workshop is targeted by missiles. 

 

The witnesses said that white dust came out from the building and flames of fire rose, adding that ambulances, rescue teams and firefighters rushed to the scene. 

 

Medical sources at Shifa Hospital reported that there were no injuries. 

 

Meanwhile, Israeli troops arrested early Wednesday five civilians and destroyed a house in the West Bank city of Jenin, according to WAFA

 

According to the report, Israeli jeeps backed by tanks and armoured vehicles swept into Dan village and launched a house-to-house search campaign into civilians' houses, causing fear among inhabitants. 

 

Five Palestinians had been arrested and led to an unknown destination. 

 

Informed sources inside the village told the agency that Israeli soldiers besieged a two-storey house and forced its inhabitants to leave, shortly before dynamiting it, leaving their owners homeless. (Albawaba.com)
