Two people were killed and three wounded in separate attacks during the weekend in Algeria, newspapers reported Tuesday. Several newspapers ran an account of how the charred bodies of two members of a local civil defense group, called the GLD, were found with their throats slit a few days after being kidnapped.

The incident occurred in the Annaba region, an estimated 600 kilometers east of Algiers. In addition, the papers reported that three soldiers were injured in a bomb explosion in Ammal, in the Boumerdes area, some 50 kilometers east of the capital. (Albawaba.com)
