Iraqi resistance fighters clashed with U.S. forces near the city of Baqouba northeast of Baghdad on Friday for the second time in as many days, U.S. military officials said.

A U.S. Army 1st Infantry patrol came under fire at about 7:45 a.m. in the town of Buhriz, near Baqouba, some 55 kilometers north of Baghdad. Troops returned fire, killing two of the Iraqis, a military official said, according to The AP

On Thursday, another 1st Infantry patrol came under attack in the same region. There were no U.S. casualties resulting from either attack.

US military officials said seven Iraqis had been killed in the two days of skirmishes. (Albawaba.com)
