Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on May 23rd on an official visit to Pakistan, a foreign office official said in Islamabad on Monday.
The visit aims at reaffirming the good relations between the two countries as well as to discuss bilateral relations that have remained excellent, he added.
Following a day's stay in the capital city of Islamabad, during which the Premier is due to attend a top-level meeting to discuss issues of mutual interest, he is due to leave for the Afghan capital of Kabul on May 25th and then to continue from there back home, with a brief refueling stop in Islamabad, Kuwait News Agency reported.
Following Prime Minister Ecevit’s visit to India last year, he intended to visit Pakistan as well, however due to domestic affairs, the visit did not materialize and his visit to India was also shortened. (Albawaba.com)
