Tunisia wins three gold medals in 14th Mediterranean Karate Championships

Tunisian team made up of Mohamed Amine Hasnaoui, Tarek Oualhazi, Amine Tabib, Zied Ben Afia and Oussama Mahjoubi won three gold medals along with six bronze and four silver medals at the 14th Mediterranean Juniors Karate Championships, which was held in Malta. La Presse reports that Malta, Tunisia, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Italy and Serbia-Montenegro took part in the event. Bechir Cherif, president of the Tunisian Federation of karate, said, “We are happy with the good performance our team has shown,” adding that they are optimistic about the World Junior Karate Championships envisaged to take place in Cyprus in November.
