Tunisia attracted over 1 billion dinars (about $720 million) in foreign investment in 2000, registering an increase of 122 percent compared to the year before.
The energy sector alone attracted 300 million dinars ($215 million), said Xinhua News Agency.
Textile and garments businesses played an important role compared other Tunisian industrial sectors, gaining foreign investors' appreciation.
The tourism sector secured 41 million dinars ($30 million) for the construction of more hotel units, said the agency – Albawaba.com
