ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump, who clearly spoke about being a rival of socialist Zohran Mamdani, was shocked to see him win and become the first Muslim Mayor of New York City.
Via Truth Social, Trump, following the victory of Mamdani as the 111th mayor of New York, commented, "AND SO IT BEGINS!"
Earlier, the U.S. President promised to cut federal funding for NYC if Mamdani wins, and called on his supporters to vote for Andrew Cuomo.
On the other side, Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani challenged Trump in his victory speech, saying: "New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants. And as of tonight, led by an immigrant." He added, "So hear me, President Trump, when I say this: 'To get any of us, you will have to get through all of us.'"

The Guardian said that Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani competed against former governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and won with over 50 percent of the votes.
On the other hand, Cuomo, 67, gained over 40 percent, on the other hand, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa gained only just over 7 percent of the votes.
