ALBAWABA- U.S. President Donald Trump convened a high-profile summit at Marine Corps Base Quantico today, addressing over 300 senior military leaders, including generals and admirals, in a rare gathering organized by War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The meeting, called on short notice, comes amid escalating global tensions, including Russia’s drone attacks on Kyiv and growing instability in the Taiwan Strait.

During the session, Trump outlined a comprehensive military strategy, focusing on enhancing U.S. readiness, countering China’s naval expansion, and coordinating potential long-range missile support to Ukraine.

Closed-door discussions reportedly examined troop deployments and resource allocations, while emphasizing readiness for emerging global threats.

In a 45-minute public address, Trump combined military policy with diplomatic achievements, notably his recently unveiled Middle East Gaza ceasefire plan.

He portrayed the summit as a demonstration of U.S. strength enabling peace efforts, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s apology to Qatar over previous airstrikes.

Trump further intensified his rhetoric on Russia’s war in Ukraine during a high-profile address at Marine Corps Base Quantico, pledging decisive military action to halt the conflict.

He announced a proposed $1 trillion defense budget for fiscal 2026, a 13% increase, aimed at strengthening U.S. military capabilities, including production of Boeing’s new sixth-generation F-47 fighter jet.

He framed the expansion as a direct response to Russia’s recent 595-drone attack on Kyiv, asserting, “Russia will back down when they see our power.”

The announcement highlighted Trump’s strategy of linking military readiness to his Gaza ceasefire initiative, reinforcing his image as both a global peacemaker and deterrent ahead of the 2028 election.

Trump also highlighted his self-nominated Nobel Peace Prize candidacy, citing alleged endorsements from leaders in Cambodia and Pakistan, and positioning the award as validation of his foreign policy record.

The Quantico summit underscores the Trump administration’s dual focus on military preparedness and high-profile diplomacy, drawing international attention as the U.S. navigates multiple conflict zones.
