Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. announced that its Abu Dhabi subsidiary, Adyard L.L.C Abu Dhabi have recently been awarded a contract from Black and Veatch to supply Claus Reactors and CBA Reactors for the Jamnagar Export Refinery Project undertaken by Reliance Petroleum Limited.
The contract worth approximately US$ 4 million was signed recently at the Adyard offices in Abu Dhabi. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of May 2007 and is another significant project win for Adyard to consolidate their market position in the higher value range of pressure vessel manufacture.
Jim Masterton, General Manager, Adyard, stated, “The Black and Veatch project team were extremely impressed with Adyard’s revamped fabrication facility and the ‘can do’ attitude of Adyard’s management in creating the right environment for negotiating this particular contract.”
Reliance Industries one of India's biggest industrial groupings and the largest private sector company on the Sub-Continent is pursuing an aggressive investment strategy in Jamnagar. The Export Refinery located near to the Indian commercial centre of Mumbai, is one of the world's largest grassroots petrochemical complexes. The refining plant has a capacity of 27 million tonnes per year, which has increased to 108 per cent of the operating rates since April 2000. Reliance Industries has suggested that it will be willing to spend between US$ 2.5 billion and US$ 3 billion in order to expand the Jamnagar petrochemical complex.
