Senior Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat left Cairo Saturday for Amman on the last leg of a tour of three Arab countries, MENA news agency reported.
In the course of a one-day stay in the Egyptian capital, Erakat had talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher on "latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause and the results of his last visit to Washington," MENA said.
Erakat began his tour Thursday with a brief stop in Amman for talks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Moasher. The Palestinian official said earlier he was undertaking the tour as representative of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.
In Saudi Arabia on Friday, Erakat met with Prince Saud al-Faisal, the foreign minister. During the Amman talks with Erakat, the Jordanian foreign minister insisted on the need for a political track to revive the peace process, the official Petra news agency said. (Albawaba.com)
