India’s steel giant, Tata Iron and Steel Company Ltd (Tisco), has found a new market in Jordan, appointing an agent in the Arab country as part of its efforts to intensify activity in the Middle East.
The company’s Managing Director Jamshed Irani was quoted by Bahrain Tribune as saying that the Tisco’s exports to the Middle East are growing in terms of tonnage and more value added items are being sold in the market.
Currently Tisco’s exports to the region amount to 40,000 tons valued at $20 million, according to the paper.
Irani said Saudi Arabia and the UAE would remain the biggest markets for the company, accounting for 40 percent of its exports to this region, said the report -- Albawaba.com
