A US soldier was killed and another wounded on Tuesday when a Delta UH-60 helicopter crashed south of Baghdad, according to the US military.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. (local time) and was a "non-hostile" incident, said Spc. Anthony Reinoso.
Earlier, a suspected car bomb had ripped through a police station complex in Baghdad, killing one person and wounding at least fourteen people, including several officers and wrecking nearby vehicles.
The bomb went off outside the Rasafa police station, shortly after 11:00 a.m. (local time), according to witnesses.
One witness said he saw two wounded policemen taken away from the scene. According to some reports, there were two big explosions.
One explosion damaged the office of the US-appointed Baghdad police chief, Hassan Ali, who was not in the complex at the time of the attack, witnesses said.
Police Brigadier Saeed Muneim said Ali was probably the
target of the explosion.
On Monday, two US soldiers were killed in an explosion outside the Baghdad police station, a US military spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The blast took place during a joint patrol with Iraqi policemen. Another US soldier was injured as well. (Albawaba.com)
