Israeli occupation forces killed Tuesday two Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, witnesses said. They told WAFA that Israeli troops, stationed at "Atsmona" settlement, shot dead Shadi al-Laqan, 20, and Fadi Dohan, both from Khan Younis. Israel said the two were shot while trying to plant a bomb.
Medics said that Israeli troops refused to deliver the bodies of the victims to the Palestinian paramedics.
In the meantime, Israeli soldiers blocked the two military checkpoints of Abu Holi and al-Matahen (Wheat mills), dividing the Gaza Strip into three parts, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.
Scores of patients, workers, students and women were reportedly waiting under the hot sun. Some of them returned back home.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Israeli bulldozers, backed by tanks, destroyed two wells in the city of Beit Hanoun, in the northern tip of the Gaza Strip, witnesses said. They added that Israeli forces rolled into Beit Hanoun, amid intensive fire, and destroyed the wells.
In the West Bank, a Palestinian child was shot dead by Israeli fire in Nablus. According to Palestinian sources, Khaled al Atsa, 8, a resident of the Old City was hit in his chest.
Earlier, three Palestinians were Tuesday wounded by Israeli fire in the city. They conveyed that Ahmed Za'tar 18, was shot and wounded in his leg and arm, Qais Mossa, 17, in his leg and Ahmed Mabrouka 16, was shot with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head.
According to Palestinian medical sources, the number of Palestinians wounded during the Israeli operation on Nablus amounted to at least 27.
Also Tuesday, Israeli troops arrested Tuesday dozens of Palestinians in various cities, witnesses said. They told WAFA that Israeli troops stormed Ein Beit al-Maa Refugee Camp, west of Nablus, broke into most of its houses and arrested seven, leading them into an unknown location.
In a related development, Israeli military vehicles rolled into several villages in Ramallah and arrested an unidentified number of Palestinians.
In Jayous village near Qalqilya, Israeli forces launched a large-scale search operation and arrested the 18-year-old Ahmed Shamasneh, local witnesses said. (albawaba.com)
