Israeli troops killed two Palestinian civilians in Nablus early Saturday afternoon.
Palestinian sources said that one of the dead was Sami Halawi, 42, who was shot at the entrance to his home. The second Palestinian, Walid el-Masri, 22, was shot in the head during clashes between Palestinians and troops.
A Palestinian civilian was shot and killed by Israeli troops in the West Bank city of Tulkarem on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, a senior Palestinian official urged the Non-Aligned Movement on Saturday to use its influence in the United Nations to win the imposition of sanctions against Israel.
"We expect more terrorism in this part of the world," Farouq al-Qaddoumi, head of the political directorate in the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, said on the sidelines of a summit of the 114 members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Asked what NAM's members, who account for about two-thirds of the United Nations, could achieve at their three-yearly summit, al-Qaddoumi suggested sanctions to force Israel to give up its terrorism against the Palestinian people.
"NAM countries represent two-thirds of the countries of the world and have to shoulder the task in the UN of trying to impose sanctions - as they were imposed on the apartheid regime in South Africa," he said. (Albawaba.com)
