Three killed in Algeria; Death toll from outset of Ramadan - at least 12

Three people, including a member of an Islamic ‏group, were killed in the past two days in two separate ‏incidents, Algerian newspapers reported Monday.

On Sunday, an Algerian securitymen killed a youth suspected to be a member of an Islamic group in the Ain el Bey area on the outskirts of the city of ‏Constantine. According to the Algerian daily El-Khabar, the dead youth was identified as joining the ‏ranks of the Salafist group, suspected of having links to Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network.

Meanwhile, unknown attackers killed two youths early Sunday after abducting ‏‏them on a town road in the village of Um el Toub in Skikda, some 550 kilometers ‏east of the Algeria capital.‏  

 

These latest deaths bring the toll of those killed in Algeria during the month of Ramadan to at least 12.
