Oman, the UAE and Kuwait are nearing the end of negotiations with Jordan’s Education Ministry on hiring teachers for the coming school year, reported the Jordan Times on Wednesday.
According to the ministry's secretary general, Ghazi Khreisha, Oman has hired 150 teachers with different specialties.
Khreisha said the UAE has independently, without the mediation of the ministry, contracted several ministry teachers, adding that Kuwait was still negotiating.
He said Kuwait was having difficulty hiring around 50 badly needed female English teachers because of the stringent requirements set by the emirate, said the paper.
An informed source said Kuwait was demanding that the teachers be single, under 40 and have a minimum four years of experience – Albawaba.com
