Syrian President Bashar Assad will arrive Sunday in the United Arab Emirates for a two-day visit, reported the Gulf News daily.
During his visit, the Syrian leader will congratulate Emirati President, Sheikh Zayed al Nahyan on his safe return to the country, and will brief him on the latest developments in the Middle East.
Talks between the two leaders, said the daily, will focus on the current Arab developments, ways of enhancing Arab solidarity as well as ways of consolidating bilateral ties, said the paper.
Kuwait's News Agency (KUNA) said Saturday that it would be Assad's first official visit to the Gulf country since he assumed power in July following his father's death -- Albawaba.com
