Following a several day chase, Syria's security force seized two "terror group members" Monday morning after a clash on Qassioun Mountain in which a Syrian officer was killed and four other security personnel were injured, an official source at the Information Ministry said.
It should be noted that on Sunday, an armed clash on the Syria-Lebanon border, left two Syrian troops and one "extremist" dead.
Regarding Monday's incident, the unnamed source added that primary investigations indicated that some members of the unidentified "terror group" had worked as bodyguards for former Iraqi president, Saddam Hussein, the official SANA news agency reported.
One of those arrested, according to the report, was Sharif Ayed Saed al-Semadi, a Jordanian and wife of his run away brother Mohammad Ayed Saed al-Semadi surnamed Mohammad Islam.
According to the source, no Syrian citizen at the clash site was injured and the security forces continued pursuing the other members who are involved in "terrorist crimes and holdups."
Syria, according to international evaluations, is one of the most stable countries in the world, the source concluded.
