Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Lebanese counterpart Emil Lahoud held a meeting on Tuesday, in which they discussed "boosting the internal situation in Lebanon", while stressing Syria's "standby Lebanon to enhance its national unity and to confront the threats and challenges" facing both countries.
In addition, the two leaders exchanged views on the regional situation, asserting the importance of consultation and coordination in facing current challenges, SANA reported.
Moreover, Assad and Lahoud stressed the importance of the cooperation agreement signed between the two countries and the expansion of relations of cooperation between Damascus and Beirut in all fields. (Albawaba.com)
