The Syrian Ambassador to Washington, Emad Mustapha, Wednesday night delivered his credentials to U.S. President, George W. Bush. Following the meeting Mustafa told reporters that President Bush pointed out to the difficulties that engulfs the American-Syrian relations, but at the same time expressed hope of improving these relations.
He added that President Bush voiced his belief that Syria can play a leading role in the Middle East.
According to SANA report on Thursday, the ambassador described his meeting with Bush as "cordial and frank."
