Syrian and Iranian trade official reviewed on Monday their trade ties during the first session of the fifth session of the joint Syrian-Iranian committee that was held in Damascus, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA).
The session was co-chaired by Iran's Housing and Urban Development Minister Ali Abdolalizadeh and Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Muhammad Al Imadi.
The two sides expressed interest to deepen the bilateral cooperation in the fields of implementation of the joint industrial projects including car-manufacturing, setting up of steel mills, oil, gas, electricity and banking system, said IRNA.
Abdolalizadeh expressed satisfaction with the current level of the Iran-Syria ties, saying Iran was interested to further boost its ties with Syria.
He voiced Iran's readiness to conduct preliminary studies in Damascus to build the underground train in the city by the Iranian experts.
Abdolalizadeh arrived in Damascus Sunday at the head of a ranking delegation.
He told IRNA that implementation of past agreements has resulted in raising Iran's industrial and engineering service exports to Syria by four times.
The Iranian minister said that up to now, agreements on building 10 silos and one cement plant in Syria have been finalized and the joint venture for building a steel mill in Syria will also be on the agenda of the joint economic commission – Albawaba.com
