The Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) opened its new information centre today (Sunday, May 28th, 2006) at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) head office in Deira, Dubai, in a strategic move aimed at raising investor awareness about the free zone by providing easy access to potential investors.
Salma Hareb, CEO of Jafza, said, “DCCI is the foremost authority responsible for furthering commercial activities in the emirate of Dubai and developing the legislations that regulate various sectors, and as such, it attracts significant investment from investors and businessmen looking for viable opportunities in Dubai. Opening an information centre within the premises of such a strategically important organization will allow Jafza to draw significant investor attention and explore business possibilities.”
Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al Mutaiwee, Director General, DCCI, said, “DCCI is focused on boosting business activities in Dubai and has been working in close association with various organizations towards this objective. Jafza is the fastest growing free zone in the world and one that has caught global attention, and their decision to open an information centre within our premises will prove equally beneficial for both Jafza and DCCI.”
In addition to its contribution in setting the general policies that govern the economic affairs and daily services offered to its clients, DCCI conducts periodic meetings with business groups and business councils. Moreover, DCCI undertakes the organization of seminars, conferences and training courses, and is also engaged in promoting Dubai at a regional and global level.

Jafza currently has information centers in different locations in Dubai, such as Dragon Mart and Emaar. The new information centre in DCCI is Jafza’s third such centre, with more planned in other key locations.
