ALBAWABA - In a somber development, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has been steadily rising since Israeli occupation initiated its attacks on October 7th.

The total number of casualties now stands at 7,703, as per the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Disturbingly, a significant portion of these casualties—3,595—are children. Furthermore, the count of individuals wounded has surged to 19,734.

Israeli occupation's military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, confirmed that the occupation's ground operation within the Gaza Strip is ongoing. This escalation of violence comes as the World Health Organization (WHO) reports dire conditions in Gaza.

Due to Israel's relentless bombardment, healthcare workers, patients, and civilians were subjected to a harrowing night, enduring communication and power outages, rendering their surroundings shrouded in darkness and fear. WHO underscored the alarming situation, emphasizing that disrupted communications have hindered the ability of ambulances to reach the injured, while morgues are grappling with an overwhelming number of bodies.

The occupation's determination to press on with its military campaign in the region has now entered its 21st day. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari announced that infantry, armored, engineering, and artillery units remain engaged on the ground, underscoring the persistence of the operation.

In a disturbing development, the Israeli occupation military intensified its strikes on the northern region of Gaza, employing both ground forces and aerial bombardments. Clash reports emerged as occupation soldiers confronted members of Hamas in locations such as Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza and Bureij in central Gaza during the night. Airstrikes by the Israeli occupation military extended to the vicinity of Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest and central healthcare facility, and the vicinity of Indonesia Hospital in Beit Lahia, further exacerbating the already challenging situation.
