The Bahraini Friendship Society for the Blind is arranging a host of activities for its blind members, including swimming, horseback riding, jet skiing and scuba diving.

"I want to do something new for the blind," sports committee head Waleed Ahmed Ali, who is partially sighted, told the Khaleej Times.

According to the official, 36 members are taking swimming classes at the Gulf Air Club in Salmabad, while another six have just completed a horseback-riding course.

Classes were conducted in enclosed spaces to ensure that the horses could not run out of control.

"We achieved a remarkable success, nobody expected it and we are very proud of ourselves," said Ali – Albawaba.com
