The Taliban has sufficient military strength to defend its southern stronghold of Kandahar and surrounding provinces, a spokesman for the militia said Wednesday.
"At present, our forces in Kandahar and surrounding provinces, they are enough to defend our present controlled areas," spokesman Syed Tayyad Agha told a press conference in this southern border town.
"The people living in our provinces are soldiers. They are well trained," said Agha, who claimed that the Islamic militia still held "three or four" provinces – Afghanistan (AFP)
