ALBAWABA - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will be holding a press conference at 10:00 am GMT to announce whether he will be resigning or not.
Sanchez revealed last Wednesday that he was considering resigning after a Madrid court launched a preliminary investigation into alleged influence peddling and corruption involving his wife Begona Gomez.
Sanchez claims that the action against his wife is part of a "harassment" campaign carried out by "media heavily influenced by the right and far-right" and supported by the conservative opposition.
"I need to stop and think whether I should continue to head the government or whether I should give up this honor," he wrote on X.
The public prosecutor's office in Madrid requested for the investigation against Sanchez's wife to be dismissed. Meanwhile, Sanchez suspended all his public duties and resorted to silence regarding the ongoing investigation.
