A recent study published by the Department of Childhood in Sharjah, revealed that social development centers have made remarkable progress in improving family stability in the local community.
These centers provide mothers and children with the basic requirements needed for living, and aim to improve the living conditions for families and the local environment.
Social development centres were established in 1978 by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and by the United Nations Development Programme, according to Gulf News. Twelve centers were set up in different areas of the UAE, 4 of which were established in Sharjah and in the Eastern Region. (Albawaba.com)
