Six Palestinian activists were killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank town of Tulkarem on Sunday evening. Israeli military sources said the six were members of Fatah's armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.

Witnesses said troops raided the town after dark and ambushed a group of eight Palestinian fighters. A gunbattle ensued in which six of the Palestinians were killed, including two local leaders of the group. The other two fled, the sources said.

Later, Israeli helicopters fired two missiles at a target in Gaza City's Zeitoun neighborhood, wounding nine Palestinians, local sources said.

Meanwhile, six children from the Gaza Strip settlement of Neveh Dekalim were injured after an anti-tank missile hit a central building inside the colony. One child was seriously wounded and five others, suffered light injuries in the attack. Reports said Palestinians fired the missile from the area of Khan Yunis. (albawaba.com)
