Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Tuesday presented to his Likud party with a timetable for the approval of each stage of his plan for "disengagement" from the Palestinians.
The timetable includes: A draft of a bill dealing with compensation for evacuated settlers will be distributed during September to all ministers.
In October, the Israeli cabinet will approve the law, after which it will be submitted to the parliament for its first reading.
Sharon's timetable also calls for cabinet approval for the principles of compensation for evacuated settlers, as well advance payments to settlers who wish to leave earlier, on September 14, in the run-up to the Jewish New Year.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces killed early Tuesday a Palestinian boy in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah while another Palestinian was critically wounded in the head, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said.
Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) sources, in Rafah, said a 14-year-old child, Mazin al-Agha, was killed Tuesday by Israeli soldiers while he was at his home. Israeli soldiers prevented ambulances from evacuating his body, PRCS added. Witnesses added that at least ten tanks and armoured vehicles rolled early Tuesday morning into Block (G) amid intensive fire.
Al-Agha was killed while several other houses were damaged, witnesses added.
Hours before, Israeli soldiers shot and critically wounded another Palestinians. Al-Najjar Hospital said that Khalid al-Bayyoumi, 39, was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses said the Israeli soldiers positioned at 'Rafih Yam" settlement opened heavy machine-guns at Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood and wounded al-Bayoumi.
Earlier, Monday night, Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian in the city of Khan Younis, witnesses and medics said. Nasser Hospital sources, said that Yasser al-Najjar 25, was killed as he bled to death because of critical wounds, WAFA reported.
Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers, stationed at the Morag settlement, opened heavy fire at al-Najjar neighbourhood killing the man. (albawaba.com)
