Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Vuk Obradovic, the man charged with leading an anti-corruption drive, offered to resign on Wednesday after being accused of sexual harassment, a source close to the government said.

“He offered his resignation to the Serbian government today,” the source told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Obradovic, leader of the Socialdemocracy party, which is part of the ruling DOS reform alliance, has been accused by female party colleagues of sexually harassing them. He has denied the accusations.

Serbia's Beta news agency, citing an unnamed government source, said Obradovic had been asked to resign at a government meeting. The source said Obradovic had promised to file his written resignation later in the day, Beta reported -- BELGRADE (Reuters)
